Recyclable by parts
Our packaging allows the recycling of its parts, so you can separate glass from plastic and aluminum, and recycle them correctly.
Glass Bottles
We always use glass bottles, both in our fragrances and skincare, because it is the most sustainable material as it is always recycled.
No cellophane
We avoid plastic as much as possible, especially single-use plastic. Therefore, our products do not contain cellophane. Instead of that, we close them with labels.
Refill
All our products have a refill size so you can reuse the packaging you have from your first purchase, specially the pump as it is the component less sustainable, in order to consume less plastic.
Innovative materials
Our Face Night Balm comes with a 100% compostable packaging. The container might look like it is plastic, but it really isn't. Instead, it is made from an innovative compostable material know as Sulapac which is created from wood seed. Besides, the container is decorated with linen and paper labels.
No plastic bags
All orders are sent directly in our cardboard packaging, without any unnecessary plastic bags. And what happens when you ask us to gift wrap your order? We use 100% biodegradable bags, made from corn and compostable in six months.
Controlled felling paper
Both the boxes and the wooden cap used in our fragrances come from FSC-certified tree felling. Besides, the new 50ml MAAR caps are 100% compostable as we have substituted the plastic inside for cork.
Local suppliers
87% of our packaging components are produced by Spanish suppliers. The remaining, 11% are European suppliers and just 2% Asian. We do it in order to minimize the carbon footprint and support the local industry.
Ecological alcohol
We use alcohol that comes from organic wheat grown in Italy without pesticides, chemical fertilizers or genetically modified seeds. The result is a neutral alcohol that enhances the nuances of our fragrances.
Your purchase has a purpose
Even though we try to make our packaging as sustainable as possible, we know that we still have a lot to improve.
In order to offer you environmentally-responsible products, 2% of our sales are donated to Save the Med Foundation.
Every year we donate all the amount raised throughout the year to the Save the Med program chosen by the MAAR buyers through online voting.
In 2020 we donate it to the Ghost Net Collection, a program that focuses on recovering drift fishing nets. In 2021 we have donated it to Marine Protected Areas network of the Balearic Islands, which seeks to preserve and regenerate marine biodiversity.
